Hes only gone and done it........

In a moment of inspiration Colin Barron (auld geemer, to his DC mates) known as the elder of the DC tribe has only gone and bought an R36.

Having settled into a life of tartan blankets, coco by the fire and an occasional moan about the youth of today we thought Colin had finally hung up his driving gloves with the 5 series tourer. Thankfully for us the Auld Adolf, as it came to be known, had more problems than Lily Allen on a bender and Colin finally found his way back to the VW fold with a bang in his VW Passat R36.

Ladies & Gentlemen Colin Barron

This is the first of an insight into the guys who make DC tick, each week we are doing a quick Q&A with a different person.

Colin's has been around the VW "Scene" for longer than most in fact word has it he and Hitler were drinking buddies, but thats not been confirmed. He's had more VW's than most of us put together and when he's not tinkering with his or his daughters motors he's playing with big trucks....... Ladies and Gentlemen Colin

For most the E38 partying ends on the Sunday.....

1000's of hopefuls wait patently, hungover and £5 worse off, for the S&S prize giving to take place on the stage at Edition 38. All but a few go away disappointed but wait there is still hope...... the Raffle "lets hang about for that then we will shoot try and miss the traffic" everyone wanting to get home to their own little part of the world. Then an almighty rush for the gate, its quite funny to watch cars jumping from one side of the show ground to another, cutting each other up, the regulars choosing the tried and tested route back up the one way system.

Living some 350 miles from the VW mecca of Northampton us Scottish chaps usually book the Monday off work and attempt the Camel trek back to the mother land the following day. Some of our Dutch cousins at VW-Speed thought the same thing this year, and staying in the same hotel it made for a bit of a messy evening indeed.

They call it Sumertime

Pileups FTW

Point to note, like any true Scotsman in the face of adversity you never drop your drink.......

Welkom

Big shout going out to our new found friends...........for their full E38 2009 photos visit the VW-Speed website

X5PEA takes his act to the stage

Most of you will know Chris from his Blue MK1 Golf (Project 504) and more recently his Green MK5 Golf (Project Chicken Wire). After turning up a little late, he hit Edition 38 with the latest creation and his third Show Car in just 12 months, Project Rockafella a 2009 VW Scirocco. Simon Sweetland interviewed Chris to get an insight to the Man behind the cars, TUK Customs and the latest venture Bagyard Air Ride.

Once the voting is complete the car is added to the appropriate section on the cool wall jobs a good un.

DC Garage

Well after months of delays its finally getting into some shape, still got some finishing to be done but it in a useable state now.

The plan for the DC Garage was to have a place where the guys in the club could get some help with their projects or take advantage of the facilities usually unavailable to most. The garage as a whole is large enough to hold 10+ cars, we have a compressor, air tools, lifting & welding equipment, 2 post ramp along with the usual tools of the trade. We are currently turning what was the office into a Cinema/Games room and discussing the possibilities of a spray booth for the future.

See the DC Garage thread on our forum for more info on future events DC Forum

DC Does E38

After the support the Guys at Edition 38 showed for our own show, DC09 in June of this year, we thought it would be rude not to come out in big numbers to return the favour.

We have a Trade Stand arranged, a marquee booked all thats left is to give the cars a wash and polish oh and drive the 350 mile journey to Northampton.

Do pop over to the DC stand and say hi we have a quite a few new cars making their debue along with the Lastest BagYard Demo car.

Hears a sneek preview of one of the cars we have been working on.......
