2 Peas in a pod

All has been go at DCHQ this weekend as the Peas, one with an e, were working on their green chariots.

Here is a few shots of jamie's Valver with the wheels and coils on, like most dubbers jamie is still striving to perfect the stance of the 3rd Gen GTI. Im sure we will see jamies vision soon at DC10.

The DC shyboy Russell AKA Tango Golf

Well just so nobody feels safe from getting a mention on the DC blog I thought I'd post up about Russell.
He's been around the "Dub scene" for more years than most and for the last dozen or more it's been with his stunning Oak green Mk2 G60,Russell's Mk2 turns heads where ever it goes as it is in pristine condition and even though it hibernates every winter at the end of the show season It still gets driven as Wolfsburg intended while it's out on the road for 6 months of the year.

Russell is one of these guys who keeps himself pretty much to himself most of the time but,has been known to share a few "gingers" at event when we all get together for the social side of the scene which DC seems to do better than most.

He's also a guy who likes to try and scare people by making stupid faces through the front screen of their car while the driver is in the car.

Anyways some pics of the Mk2 and also Russell doing "scary" face LMFAO

The "Auld yin" and his Passats

Since I've posted up with a little humour about lots of the DC guys n Gals I thought I had better do something similar about myself???

Anyways I've had a few of the larger Dubs over the years and I thought I'd share some of my Passat moments form the past 6 years or so.

I've had four Passats in this time from my Black 4 motion which got it's mention in VW driver magazine, next up was my Passat wagon which made me a national "Star" overnight when I used it for STV's Drivetime program in a car swap with a young 17 year old females lovely pink Vx Corsa. The "wagon" also made it into Golf+ magazine when I attended the UK Passat meet in Rochdale. And to cap it all the "Drivetime" article was printed in the Evening Times newspaper for all and sundry to see,god did it give me some grief!!! more than a few times I'd be sitting in the car at traffic lights when I peep on a horn would attract my attention only to be confronted with some hairy arsed builder shouting down from the drivers seat of his Tranny van "Haw you, your that fanny from Drivetime with the pink Corsa"....Does those episodes of my Passat ownership give me nightmares or what...the program and article was three years ago and still people like to have a "pop" at me with it!!!! pmsl
Next Passat for me was my favourite the R36,I bought this after I got made redundant from my job and to be honest it took away the thoughts of the redundancy for a good few months until reality kicked in and I had to sell my beloved Passat on.
I then bought my next Passat which came in the CC guise complete with a 3.6v6 and 4wd......

I've included a pic of when they came into my ownership and then a pic of when I would have sold them onto pastures new.

Also the press pics from the published days including a pic of the "arse" himself PMSL

And yes the "Pink corsa" episode has left me permanently scarred ...............LOL

I've also been known to use "alternative" modes of transport for test purposes.

Kenny Montgomery (AKA The Grocer)

Kenny is a fairly recent addition to DC after being led astray by "Shapemaker" he came along to some of the events in 2009 and looks like he had a good time cos he's still hanging around and is now considered a regular on the club stand at events.

Kenny hails from Glasgow's "posh" South side or so those across that side of the Clyde would like people believe and his love of cars shows in his Mk5 gti but,we all know where his real loyalty lies !!!!

Yup Kenny is a grocer as you have no doubt gathered and definitely knows more about food stuffs that he does about cars that's with any shadow of a doubt.

Anyway a few pics of the man himself along with his hobby. Rumour has it he attempts to play a bit of football and going by Johnny's accounts Kenny is pish but,I guess he has to try and find something to be good at.

KEEP TRYING GROCER you'll get there eventually

Paul Peacocke( the car valeter/detailer)

Most will know Paul who is Jamie (nailnocker) young brother and I'm sure regulars will have seen the two of them fall out over something trivial at a car show somewhere over the years.

Paul has plenty experience around the Dub scene over the years and him and Jamie managed a feature in some obscure VW magazine about 5 years ago when they both had the Mk3 Golf's with Paul owning the VR6 at the time and Jamie the 16v which they did swap around with each other. In fact Jamie has the 16v again and he's reluctant to return the private plate what Paul put on the car when he had it.

Paul when he has the party head on is a bit on the giggly side which is rather entertaining to say the least.
He has his own business across on the other side of Edinburgh where he cleans and polishes cars to an extremely high standard and has turned out some prize winners over the years.

He did win best Mk3 at UD's on the events first year with the 16v which is probably his highest claim to fame in the DUB show world.

At the moment he's running around in a B5 Passat with a personal plate _ _ _ MUF....wtf was the person who bought this plate thinking of??? LMFAO.

I'll add more pics of Paul's cars as I come across them but, here's a few to get on with.

The Mk3 VR6 in PP guise (before it ramraided the FK shop)
The Mk3 16v @ Ultimate Dubs 2006
Paul shining up the VR6 @ Kaimes 2005
The body under the St Andrews flag could be Paul after the heavy session we all had at UD's in 2006??

The left hooker is the G60 from Spain that the Peacocke brothers "stole" from it's previous owner.

If you want to know more about Paul Peacocke's detailing business then check out his website.

Lee (manback/brokeback or whatever)or even man down as in the 4th pic

Beef doGGs sidekick in the car fcuk'r upper works,he's known as many things within DC circles and is the champion of "cooncil mods".

The "Mombus" has had more than it's fair share of Lee's attention with spanners and at present is in a kinda Jill friendly mode as the daily family runner.
Lee has his Mk2 auto for daily transportation back and forth between Redneck land and Western VW where he's known to advise a few normal VW owners in what's needed for their prized vehicle.

The garden back home in Redneck land bares a strong resemblence to a local "Scrappy" with all of Lee's project's growing grass and even at times breeding mice???? WTF as if Greenpeace being after you for destroying the enviroment your now going after the World wildlife organisations?????

Anyways a few snaps of some project's from the past and present...........................

I am reliably informed that the red mk2 never belonged to Lee......and the "Scrappy" has been replaced with a kiddies play area for Lee......PMSL
